Bought with blood.

Psalm 44:3 -
"We didn’t fight for this land;

we didn’t work for it—it was a gift!

You gave it, smiling as you gave it,

delighting as you gave it."

This is going to sound very controversial...
But none the less.

I read that verse and I immediately thought of Jesus dying on the cross. Starting off with lash upon lash, ripping flesh from the bone,  the flesh of someone who only came to save us but was persucuted for what he wasn't and didn't do.  He took the whole punishment, every time they hit him, every time they spit on him, every time they mocked him. Going through a trial of a crime he didn't even commit; being betrayed by one of his closest friends.  Being denied by another of who he was so the man would have a status to not be known as the follower of the Christ. Getting traded for a liar, all within a short period of time. Getting tormented by this world, by this flesh, keeping his cool while getting beat and bruised, battered up for doing nothing but preaching his fathers word. Taking a crown of thorns and bearing it, as a mock of who he is and who his God his father is. Having to carry his own cross(with some help at one point) all the way to where he would he be killed.  Being layed upon a rough surfaced wood cross, bleeding all over it; getting splinters in his already broken flesh and then getting three nails in his hands and his feet.  Being lifted up and hanging there to die, bleeding in front of hundreds,  Being mocked still. "If you say who you are, send angels down to get you". This was yet another test of the flesh; like when he and Satan were in the desert and he tempted him to turn rocks into bread. He denied the all and tempting, and now he denied the people and let this be an end to his time here on earth.  He said "My God why have you forsaken me?" being part of the God-Head, he knew why, and knew God was not forsaking him, But bringing him closer so we can grow closer to him. I would think that right as he said those words, My name came into his head.  everyones name came into his head. He thought of every single person, every sinful person and smiled.. Smiled at how much he loves you.. I mean. He could have stopped this torment at anytime,  But he bore those scars, he took all that pain, all for us. All for you and all for me.  I think that He smiled thinking about how much he loves us, And said and thinks.. It was worth it... Smiling saying, It was worth it...
